I am old, to say the least. I have lived in this land for quite some time. We never quite had a name for it, it was just always home. We loved each other and lived in perfect happiness. That is, until the great ‘shaking ground’.
The earth seemed to just crumble away, taking all of our grasses, our rivers, and our lives with it. We were left with nothing… nothing but the Badlands. We all tried to live there, but our growing numbers and lack of nutrition was slowly killing us all. That was when the rumors came. A horse from far away began telling everyone about Areion. It is the perfect home for us, grasses of plenty, lakes, oceans, a wide territory to explore. Oh yeah… one more thing. The first herd to get there is said to be granted immortality.
So we have begun our migration. Some of us have left the Badlands and don’t plan on returning. A few of us though, are making the best of it. Most of us are too old to travel, or simply love the lands too much to part. I am staying behind, but I wish the best for everyone headed to Areion. I hope they receive the immortality that is promised.
