 Founded by the man who in which is named after, Jordan Rivers Asylum founded in late 1905, located om the coast of Massachusetts, is one of the top psychiatric wards for teenagers for housing patients ages 13 to 20 to this date. However its not got a pristine past. Back when it was first founded when people were locked up for some weird and strange things that now may not even be considered mental health issues, JRA was known for its cruel and unusual torments to the patients.
Even to this day its no completely pristine with its record but its good enough that the things go unnoticed. Who believes people that are locked up for being insane anyways. not many. Things such as unneeded use of force on patients, pill swapping, and other known issues that sometime come with any place like Jordan Rivers Asylum and staff that are there to do a job they have and don't give a rats ass about the people they are suppose to be looking over.
But like any long term housing for people who aren't capable of caring for themselves or have some sort of issue, its got the staff that genuinely cares. Standing tall and kept up to code and expanded to house more patients this ward is top notch and the people that have problems but can't afford it are taken care of under the Karen River's Funding Program.
Which was put in place by the wife of the founder of the Asylum and named after their daughter who was mentally ill. But that's all in the past. Now its 2010, 92 years since the founding of Jordan Rivers Asylum and there is no telling whats in store. |
